Justin-Campbell

Justin Campbell, LPTA

Clinic Director, Physical Therapist Assistant

Physical Therapist Assistant Degree, Baker College

B.S. Kinesiology, Michigan State University

TREATMENT PHILOSOPHY

Justin’s treatment philosophy begins with improving range of motion, as adequate mobility is essential for proper joint mechanics, pain reduction, and efficient movement patterns. Once sufficient range is established, therapy shifts to focus on stability, training the neuromuscular system to control movement, maintain joint alignment, and support functional tasks. With mobility and stability in place, strengthening becomes the final emphasis, allowing patients to build power, endurance, and resilience without compensatory patterns. This progression ensures strength is developed on a solid foundation, reducing risk of reinjury and supporting long-term functional independence.

BIOGRAPHY

Justin lives in Milford with his wife, son and dog. He enjoys spending time with family and friends, golfing and hiking. He will participate in just about any recreational activity for fun. Justin has a special interest in treating golfers, athletes, and orthopedic post-surgical patients. He believes that getting someone to smile or laugh can be one of the best forms of healing. Justin is engaging with his patients and wants them to understand the "why" behind their exercises, so individuals are able to progress and sustain their exercise program after therapy has been completed.

Amy James

Amy James, LPTA

Clinic Director, Physical Therapist Assistant

Associates in Applied Science from Mott Community College in 2001

Treatment Philosophy:

Skilled hands-on treatment combined with clinical reasoning and patient-centered care leads to optimal movement, function, and recovery. The body is an integrated system where impairments in mobility, strength, and motor control can contribute to pain and dysfunction. Joint mobilization, soft tissue mobilization, and nerve glide/neural tension techniques are used to restore mobility, reduce pain, and improve tissue extensibility to prepare the body for active movement. The ultimate goal is to help patients understand their condition, regain confidence in movement, and develop strategies to prevent recurrence and maintain function.

BIOGRAPHY

Amy James, LPTA has been a member of the Advanced Physical Therapy Center team since 2018 and serves as the Clinic Director for Advanced PT - Goodrich. She came to Advanced PT with 17 years of experience in the outpatient orthopedic field, with over a decade of those years in a management role. She began her physical therapy career in 1998 as an aide, an experience which fueled her passion to help others. Amy is highly skilled in Manual Therapy, Injury Prevention, Return to Sports/Job Progression and Kinesio Taping. She has training in Aquatic Therapy, Graston Technique, Muscle Energy Technique, Myofascial Decompression/Cup Therapy and Blood Flow Restriction Training. Amy also shares her expertise outside of the clinic, by volunteering her time teaching a monthly exercise and balance training class at the local senior center and hosting community events.

Amy lives in Davison with her husband and 3 beautiful daughters who are all active in organized sports, hunting, and a variety of outdoor activities. They also love to spend time with their black lab mix rescue. Physical Therapist

DPT, University of Michigan Flint 2015

MBA, Santa Clara University 1995

BA, University of California Irvine 1989

Treatment Philosophy:

Amy was treated with pelvic floor physical therapy in 2012 to correct pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence she suffered since the birth of her second child in 2002. Having successful pelvic floor therapy guides her practice today, the knowledge that this therapy is powerful, life-changing, and easy, that it really only takes is consistency.

BIOGRAPHY

Prior to becoming a physical therapist, Amy spent eighteen years in the marketing field. During that time, some life-changing events occurred including having two children (who are adults now), losing their father to cancer in 2007, and losing her job in the marketing. This forced her to “look at life” and pursue a new career. With her family’s support, she was able to go to graduate school and address some of her personal health problems. Amy had a uterine prolapse or pelvic organ prolapse (POP) that she developed after the birth of her daughter in 2004. Amy attended pelvic floor physical therapy in 2012 that corrected her prolapse and the urinary incontinence that had come with it. Amy now specializes in women’s health and pelvic floor physical therapy and credits her personal experience and knowledge with being so successful treating pelvic floor conditions such as prolapse, incontinence, pain, and constipation. Amy shares, “Pelvic floor therapy can address many conditions that many people are unaware of such as pain in abdomen or pelvic area, scar tissue management, and bladder and bowel problems, pain with intercourse.” Amy is originally from Cupertino (Silicon Valley), California and moved to Michigan in 1999. Now remarried, she lives in Fenton.
